Origin story

ezsdd started the way most good tools do: as a scratch-your-own-itch project. We were using AI coding agents to move fast — and we were. But every sprint left the same residue: docs that drifted, tests that didn't quite test, and a growing unease that "looks right" had quietly replaced "is right."

The regulated industries solved this decades ago with specification-driven development and traceability matrices. The tooling, though, was expensive, heavy, and hostile to iteration. We wanted both worlds: agent speed and auditable rigor. So we built the missing piece.

Who's building this

ezsdd is built by a small team of engineers who have lived on both sides of the fence — shipping startups and certifying medical devices — with help from an early community of early adopters. You can watch it all happen in the open: the site, the tooling and the playbooks are all open source, Apache-2.0.
